Set in the beautiful Ceiriog Valley, near Llangollen described by Lloyd George as 'a little piece of heaven on earth', The Oak is a traditional Welsh free house pub with a contemporary twist. The Ceiriog Valley is one of Wales' best kept secrets, only three miles over the hill from Llangollen yet enjoying the tranquillity and beauty of the Welsh landscape at its best.
The Oak is definitely a local's local. With a genuinely Welsh atmosphere and local lads playing folk music on most Wednesday evenings in the bar, ask anyone in the know and they will recommend you here. We also cater for groups, small wedding parties and other events.
The Oak is run by a group of people from the Ceiriog Valley who are committed to ensure that we have a great local pub with the best possible service, tasty home-cooked food, a selection of real ales, a warm welcome and a wonderful atmosphere.

Coming into Chirk from Oswestry on the A5, take the left turn on to the B4500 for Glyn Ceiriog. On entering the village, proceed to the small mini roundabout at the centre of the village and turn right up the High Street (Stryd Fawr). We are 100 yards on the rightalong this street.
